Forget the recession, Lets Go Fishing
Here are my top 5 of the Western States Spring "Bait fishing holes" for trout.
I'm not a fly fisherman costume, I tried and can not get the gift. I like to sit, relax and enjoy the atmosphere while the fish. I also like to keep and eat what they catch.
I am based on the first square of these factors, good fishing, good views and easy arrived.
So here;
Owyhee River.
Fishing for spring (before April) in the Owyhee River in southern Oregon is fantastic. This stretch of 10 miles of river below Owyhee Dam is just 30 miles from my home in Ontario, Oregon, or about 80 miles from Boise. So here is a little local knowledge.
You can say: "This is a famous fly fishing" Yes, it is a favorite "trophy brown trout paradise for fishermen, but here is a little-known secret, which is also open to "Bait fishing and bait a skilled fisherman can land more than the Browns bigger than fly fishing.
This river has a rustic beauty under all that counts, especially in early spring when snow still cling to sparkling white valleys and hills. You can come and camp, just across the river for free. Be sure to pack everything you bring and keep clean. Just set up your chairs and do a bit of relaxation "bait" or you can put on your waders and prosecute the Browns up and down the River. Wading is easy along the shallow river with easy access.
Bring your four-wheeler or a boat and navigate to the banks and liquidation. Feel like a lunch and plenty of bait, the nearest store is 10 to 15 miles.
Tip: try a night of robot Split Shot, arising from the current.
Horsethief Reservoir:
At the end of the spring trying Horsethief Reservoir, just over 10 miles Cascade, Idaho.
This small lake is my favorite place spring, summer or autumn. In spring (late April) just after "ice-off, the trout fishing is incredible. You can limit one hour Tote-8 power to 14 inches Arco Iris, during 20 incher.
But that's not all, let me tell you a true story, In the beginning of summer, my friend, Scotty and I went to a Horsethief day trip, travel outside of the falls, where I lived. We have put in place next to the dam, our usual place.
While resting in a grass bank, the turquoise blue water lake, I looked outside banks with trees. Suddenly, a flood wave and a dark spot in the water at my feet made me jump. It took me a few minutes to realize that it was an otter, is quick to steal my fish Stringer. In fact, the Otter had quickly run and stole my metal pole and five Rainbows caught that morning.
After the calm, I looked at the lake and my surprise, not 50 yards, was a family of otters frolic merrily and nibbling our mornings catch. I always wondered: "Is it legal to trap five other fish?
A little later, my friend Scotty was busy chasing a wild duck collar outside the tackle box, Duck has always tried to steal your bait. Ringed-necked duck just will not leave, stayed all day, perhaps because I gave it occasionally.
We moved down and took a little more "Arcos". I changed my Stringer, taking care to tie it tight. I asked and looked up a pair of Osprey floating above us in the cloudless blue sky.
I just slide for a nap when the three feet of water in front of us exploded, spraying two Scotty and I with water. An Osprey was submerged in the lake, directly opposite us, landed and took off clutching Nice trout in its claws.
This was a special day of wildlife, this morning, and the experiment was unforgettable. Nature at its best is usually there whenever I visit this beautiful lake. I saw deer, elk, moose and even a white wolf in this high mountain refuge. This large fishing hole is easily access and camping on the lake in many sports. It offers a majestic landscape and Fishing is peaceful, quiet and fruitful.
Tip: Use Rainbow Power Bait, a weight and a small piece of gold No. 14 of the treble.
June Lake Day "opening"
Find it at North High Sierras 50 miles from Bishop, California.
"Opening Day" is the last Saturday April. When I lived in southern California, has never lost a day Opening of the Sierras. We loved the emotion of the moment in which thousands of fishermen in California rushed to the participation of their favorite holes.

Near Gunnison, Colorado at the end of the south under the highway bridge in May
May is quite a large time to fish this lake, if you are a shore fisherman, you'll love the place under the bridge at the end near the entrance Gunnison rivers. "Eleven Mile Canyon
You will find the canyon 70 miles west of Colorado Springs, Upper Platte River.
This section of the canyon is Impressive eleven miles the river winds through the canyon until it ends at the reservoir dam of eleven miles. This stretch of river is so beautiful that my wife and I decided to have our ashes placed in the water when we go fishing this hole in the sky.
There are many "unit where" camp along the River. The fish are generally smaller trout pan-industry, but there are only occasional lunker. You can also take monster 40 "that roam the pike in these waters.
What I like fishing in these waters is that on a warm spring day, you can jump to one of the giant rocks in the river and drift an indicator "orange" and mealworm along the stream and see the drift of a 100 meters or until you get a strike.
When my youngest son, Jeremy, was a small child, I would put a rope around your life jacket, then my size. And we went rock jumping and fishing all day.
