The role of histamine in mental illness and its reduction by vitamin C – Part III

Chapter 5: Conclusions, Implications and recommendations for further

Conclusions and implications:

The role of histamine in mental illness has been theorized for decades, but the classics and other fields of medicine have been slow in relation to histamine effect on mental health. In addition, the vast majority of conventional medical alternative and do not realize that Vitamin C has powerful antihistamine effects, which can be beneficial for physical and mental health. Conventional medicine uses antihistamines pharmaceutical for the treatment of histamine-related physical and mental ailments sometimes. As mentioned above, pharmaceutical antihistamines have several side effects, many of deteriorating mental health. It is unfortunate that the vast majority of the more obscure practitioners are ignorant of the effects of antihistamines vitamin C. It is the purpose of this thesis of vitamin C antihistamine effects on, especially regarding the treatment of various forms of mental illness.

Tests Vitamin C positive impact on mental health is compelling. Vitamin C can act as a mild antidepressant by stimulating cAMP levels. Low levels of cAMP associated with depression. Vitamin C also helps to produce norepinephrine, which, like cAMP, is often low in depression. In fact, the camp is the path of norepinephrine, which is the way that many antidepressants used drugs to improve mood. Vitamin C hydroxy dopamine also to help Train to norepinephrine (Goodman et al., 1996).

Vitamin C, when used at high doses, which potentially can reduce anxiety (Balch and Balch, 1997). As mentioned earlier, the brain stops trying to maintain constant levels of vitamin C, regardless of how the levels are low in the rest of the body. Therefore, the question arises: how can high or low levels of vitamin C on mental health, assuming that a constant concentration in the brain? A possible explanation is as follows: the total amount of vitamin C in the body can become more oxidized than reduced. Remember that only vitamin C is oxidized enters the brain, which is reduced. If there is insufficient reducing agents in the brain, and vitamin C to be oxidized, and therefore most of its unused properties. Reduction Dopamine modulates the vitamin C in the brain, and therefore can act as a natural antipsychotic in reducing the high rate of dopamine. It also helps to secrete oxytocin a pleasure hormone, and improving mood. As mentioned above, the promotion of myelin formation of ascorbate (Rice, 2000 P. 214). Vitamin C also inhibits the release of the stress hormone cortisol, which there for prolonged periods may precipitate depression. It also helps protect the brain against drug-induced neurotoxicity, probably by its antioxidant effects.

However, by far the most important effect of the positive mental health that vitamin C is its antihistamine effect. Because, as mentioned above, histamine has several negative effects on mental health. Administration histamine in the brains of animals increased fear memory (Blandina et al., 2004). It is well known that histamine plays an important role in reactions allergic, and people with allergies are much more likely for depression (Firshein, 1996; Ossofsky, 1976). Histamine can cause behavior directly depression (Arrigo-Reina and Chiechio, 1998).

As mentioned above, histamine, either directly or indirectly influence all neurotransmitters important, often through the inhibition of neurotransmitter release (Brown, Stevens & Haas, 2001), theoretically resulting in anxiety, depression, or both. Anxiety can be caused by inhibition of histamine GABA, which decreases nerve transmission. Depression can be caused by inhibition of the antidepressant "Of the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine. However, histamine can also reveal the norepinephrine (Bugajski, 1984), which can cause anxiety or mania. Often, the stress releases histamine, which in turn help alleviate the HPA axis stress hormones. It is known that chronic HPA activation is associated with depression and alterations brain. There is also evidence that histamine activates the calcium channel rather than the path of the DAG (Sarri, croutons, and Claro, 1995). There is abundant evidence that the DAG path access is of type antidepressant, and the calcium channel can cause depression.

Besides its antihistamine effect, there are multiple sources may think that the Humans must make peace with vitamin C. Dr. Linus Pauling, twice Nobel Prize winner, believes that humans need two adults nine grams of Vitamin C per day (Haas, 1992). Animals can not synthesize Vitamin C for 45-300 times the RDA adult male, which is about 0.9 mg / kg / day (60-90 mg / day) (Levine, 1985). For a man of 150 pounds, this extrapolated to about 12 grams per day, whether humans synthesize their own vitamin C. Vitamin C blood and tissue levels decrease with age (Lieberman and Bruning, 1997), which is one more reason of charge. If considered as a supplement of vitamin C and other supplements should be considered, because the vitamin C requirements calcium, magnesium and bioflavonoids to help his own assimilation (Balch and Balch, 1997).

Recommendations for the prosecution:

Because vitamin C and histamine are involved in both physical and mental processes, which leads to the question of psychosomatic problems and the two molecules. Recall that the two molecules are also involved in the immune response and pro-or anti-allergic responses. There are three possible links between psychological state allergy and somatic. The first is that allergies are caused by psychological stress. The second is that psychological stress is caused by allergies. The third is that exposure allergy can cause both psychological and somatic responses. This third link has been demonstrated in a double-blind study (King, 1981). As mentioned above, mediated allergy histamine release is associated with various mental reactions.

There have been several theories on the molecular basis of mental illness for several decades. The first theory is called the theory of monoamines formed in 1950 and 1960. He suggested that abnormal brain function is directly dependent on fluctuating levels of monoamine (serotonin, norepinephrine, dopamine, GABA). Interestingly, histamine is not on the monoamine theory of origin, probably due to the lack of research, both in terms of its effects on mental health. At that time, doctors are more often than antidepressants in depressed patients, and benzodiazepines (eg Xanax, Valium) for people anxious. The second theory is the theory of comorbidity, which has dominated philosophy psychiatry in the 1990s. It was formed after the realization that drugs like Prozac alone can reduce depression and anxiety. The third subsyndromal theory, which evolved from the discovery that the vast majority of people have some anxiety, depression, and vice versa. Philosophy subsyndromal theory is, in principle, between the theories of monoamines and comorbidity.

The discovery that histamine can inhibit all other important neurotransmitters suggests take another look at the monoamine hypothesis of the origin of mental illness. It is known that dopamine tends to be high in psychosis, mania noradrenaline in the upper and lower serotonin in depression. One could postulate that dopamine neurotransmitter system psychotic bipolar system dominated the neurotransmitters noradrenaline, dominated, and depression, dominated the neurotransmitter serotonin. The fourth major monoamine, histamine, may well be dominant in atopic (allergic) individuals. People with neurotransmitter systems histamine ruling could have a wide variety of mental illnesses, because the actions of histamine in the release of all the most important neurotransmitters. Characterization biochemistry of the person that histamine may be of interest to professionals to help the physically and mentally. This characterization leads to the question of the characterization of metabolism, as described below.

In the new science of nutrition, metabolic typing, the People find it a series of questions to determine what kind of chemistry, they have. Some people are slow oxidizers tend to be sympathetic dominant system. These people better hydrates carbon. Others are fast oxidizers tend to be dominant parasympathetic nervous system. These people do better with more fat and protein in your diet. Too many carbohydrates for a rapid oxidant of many can do much physical and mental problems. Since histamine is a stimulant molecule, which can accelerate oxidation and types of histamine may want to consider limiting carbohydrates.

There is some evidence to suggest that histamine is involved in the creation of the parasympathetic Biochemistry dominant person. The parasympathetic branch of the central nervous system is responsible for the decreased heart rate and increased digestive secretions, which both are also caused by the release of histamine. In addition, the dominant trends of physical allergies parasympathetic and excessive eating (Wolcott and Fahey, 2002). Histamine is a leading cause of allergies and its stimulating effect on digestion can lead to excessive eating.

In addition to its antihistamine effect, the Vitamin C can help the biochemistry of a person in another, more subtle. Vitamin C can be purchased after ascorbic acid, calcium ascorbate with a neutral pH or sodium ascorbate. For those who are sympathetic dominant acid, ascorbic law must be considered, because such people may not have enough acid secretion chloride. The hydrogen weakly bound hydroxyl group dissociated ascorbic acid in the stomach and help digest protein. Ascorbic acid may also be useful for balancing the pH of the blood of people with metabolic alkalosis.

By contrast, the parasympathetic, which tend to have a solid production of hydrochloric acid, you should try calcium ascorbate from ascorbate accept hydrogen ions in excess in the stomach. calcium ascorbate high doses may help to neutralize acid reflux. Calcium is also good for parasympathetic and delaying oxidation (Wolcott and Fahey, 2002). ascorbate calcium may help balance the pH of the blood of people with metabolic acidosis.

Further research may focus on how megadoses of vitamin C. Mental Health quantitatively. There has been no research shows that vitamin C improves mood (Brody, 2002, Balch and Balch, 1997). So far there has been a major study to see whether vitamin C alone can significantly reduce depression or anxiety, conventional or alternative medicine. There are two main clinical scales to measure depression and anxiety — The Hamilton Depression Rating Scale and Hamilton Anxiety Scale. It would be interesting to see if vitamin C could reduce a significant depression and / or anxiety.

Since different people have different chemistry, the question arises how much vitamin C is needed daily by a person for health physical and mental. One of the best ways to evaluate the amount of vitamin C, a person needs is to have to take ascorbic acid flush. This is done either with acid ascorbic acid and calcium ascorbate Sodium /. The protocol can be modified, but usually consists of one person to 1-2 grams of vitamin C every hour until bowel tolerance causes (diarrhea). The grams of vitamin C are counted and recorded. The final program (s) that cause intestinal tolerance are usually increased by 50-80%, and the dose daily that the person should take it from there. For example, if 18 grams of tolerance causes intestinal 9-16 grams is the number of bases per day. If the person is under a number unusual stress or a viral infection, the baseline can be increased until the bowel tolerance comes at a higher level than before. Once again, the new temporary bowel tolerance is reduced to a certain percentage to the decrease of tension.

Abstract:

The content of this thesis done instead of a multidimensional model for the relief of mental illness linked histamine by vitamin C. Both histamine and vitamin C in the human body on multiple levels. Histamine plays many different roles in the body, including neuromodulation, neurotransmission, allergic mediator, mediators of inflammation, and stimulating secretion of gastric acid. When histamine levels are within normal range, the above processes are generally balanced and functioning optimally. It's when histamine levels too low or high this phrase may arise. One of the functions of vitamin C in the body is to modulate the levels of histamine, while low levels histamine, vitamin C administration makes small amounts of histamine to be released. When histamine levels are abnormally high, vitamin C acts as an antihistamine, histamine destroy excess and bring the chemical to normal physiological levels.

In addition to its antihistamine effect, Vitamin C has many other actions in the body. Like histamine, vitamin C, also is both a neuromodulator and an immunomodulator. In fact, on the basis of information earlier in this thesis, it is no exaggeration to say that vitamin C is the counterpart of histamine and molecular "guardian." Unfortunately for humans, vitamin C can not be synthesized in the body, then it must be completed, either in food or nutritional supplements. If humans could synthesize vitamin C, a person would 150 pounds about 12 grams of vitamin C per day. It is 133-200 times the U.S. RDA (recommended daily amount) of vitamin C. This statistic highlights the fact that there is a huge difference between the RDA of vitamin C to prevent rare diseases, and to support optimum physical and mental health.

optimal amounts of vitamin C in blood and tissue histamine can allow to reach dangerous levels. Histamine is competing with other neurotransmitters, and histamine in excess can eventually dominate and inhibition of other neurotransmitters. That can lead to anxiety and depression. Histamine releases norepinephrine and dopamine times, and these two neurotransmitters in excess may precipitate mania and psychosis, respectively. Histamine may also be involved in ADD (Passani, Bacciottini, Mannaioni, and Blandine, 2000). Stress releases histamine, which in turn releases the stress hormones that may create serious injury if stress is chronic. Like histamine dominates other neurotransmitters may also deregulate the HPA axis by the overstimulation of the pituitary and adrenal glands.

The molecule of cyclic AMP (cAMP) is an important regulator of metabolism. robust levels for maintaining both physical and mental health. The low level can cause asthma, depression, and perhaps even cancer. Histamine decreases the levels of cAMP by a mechanism not known, may have to do with the calcium channel antagonism towards cAMP. Vitamin C stimulates cAMP levels for at least three ways: directly degrading histamine-producing synergy with cAMP, and inhibiting the enzyme (phosphodiesterase) that degrades cAMP. Thus, we mitigate, prevent or reverse asthma, depression and cancer. Vitamin C also helps to reverse asthma by reducing the synthesis of inflammatory mediators acid arachidonic acid (AA) and PGF2a. CAMP also inhibits histamine release (Mohsenin and Dubois, 1987).

It has been shown in this thesis that vitamin C is very beneficial mental health in different ways. Vitamin C mental health benefits with the two antihistamines and its effects in many other ways. There is very unfortunate that humans can not synthesize their own vitamin C. The animals that synthesize their own vitamin C cancer much less than humans. However, the recommended daily dose of vitamin C is a miserable 60-90 mg / day, enough to prevent some diseases are very rare in developed countries. The time will come when vitamin C is recommended by doctors and nutritionists in doses that are appropriate for a person — weighs about eight grams per 100 pounds, as suggested by two-time Nobel Linus Pauling.

Wish

Wish

$22.99

With one album under her belt previously and a large increase in her Japanese abilities (Ito is originally from Los Angeles), Wish is a strong sophomore release for the singer. Since her debut, Heart, Ito has expanded greatly in technique and in phrasing, as evidenced here. Not only that, but she’s expanded greatly in her contacts, incorporating collaborations with Micro on the lesser end (though he’s still a fairly large name) and Celine Dion on the high end. The album opens with a fairly formulaic number but gives way after a song or two to some very nice vocals from Ito in “Alone Again” that fit the song perfectly. The next song is perhaps one of the greatest marks for Ito however — she has a duet with Celine Dion (on Dion’s “A World to Believe In”) but is, amazingly, not overshadowed by Dion. They sing in turn and they sing together, but both hold their own and work together as relative equals, something of a rarity in Dion’s duets. Moreover, the song comes out well. It’s a basic ballad, but it’s a nice listen. As the album goes on, Ito dabbles in more upbeat pieces, touching on contemporary J-Urban fashions and bits of dance music, all of which are somewhat standard fare for the contemporary Japanese pop singer. However, Ito’s vocals carry the songs a little higher than the compositions and arrangements alone could, powering them up just a notch without going overboard. The collaboration with Micro (“Mahaloha”) comes out nicely, with a breezy feel to its delivery and a casual vibe from both Ito and Micro. There’s a bit of a bland spot when she takes on an electronically stuttering editing technique in “A Long Walk,” but otherwise the album continues on its path. It showcases Ito’s stunning vocals, and crosses back and forth from lighter compositions to deeper tracks. With only a few exceptions (such as the collaboration with Micro), it’s the more tempered tracks that work better. Ito has the chops to remain a serious contender in the J-pop scene for a while, and as long as she can keep developing the way she appears to be on Wish, those chops should only improve. [A CD/DVD version was also released.] ~ Adam Greenberg

Dream

Dream

$22.99

In her previous albums and singles, Yuna Ito made a name for herself through her extraordinary ability to put together ballads with deep sentiment (and perhaps a touch of melodrama, not always seen as bad in the J-pop market). On Dream, however, Ito takes a surprising turn with a much heavier set of dance tracks. It’s something of a shame, given the quality of ballads put out on albums like 2007′s Wish. However, that’s not to say her dance music is poor at all. It is perhaps a bit hit or miss, but when it hits it tends to hit well. “Brand New World” could have been an m-flo track in another life, energetic and well-produced. “Koi Wa Groovy X 2″ sounds like a leftover piece of the Miami Sound Machine. “Love Machine Gun” is at once funky and full of basic pop chord progressions — clashing with itself stylistically but coming to a decent head. When the music isn’t good, however, it’s entirely flat. The attempt at Spanish pop with “Baila Baila” uses steel drums that magically remove the Spanish flavor and most of the energy. “Body” never quite gets off the ground. “Trust You” moves back to the ballad form that really gives Ito her power, but somehow gets too repetitive to give her room to stretch out her vocals in any meaningful way. Dream isn’t a bad album by any measure, but it’s also not quite up to the standard of quality that Ito previously set for herself. ~ Adam Greenberg

Every Little Thing’s seventh album, Crispy Park, debuted at number one on the Oricon charts, holding a charting position for months after its release. Combining Ichiro Ito’s guitar (and tendency toward power ballads), and Kaori Mochida’s sing-songy vocals, and a strong penchant for writing lyrics, Crispy Park provides fan service in just the way fans of Every Little Thing, or fans of Avex artists in general, clamor for. ~ Adam Greenberg

This episodic pinku-eiga film from cult director Hisayasu Sato explores the sexual adventures of three women with numerous softcore glimpses into their bedroom adventures. A housewife who prowls for new men each night, the private sex club run by her mother-in-law, and the exploits of a country girl adjusting to the more liberal atmosphere of Tokyo are the hooks upon which Sato hangs his usual observations of urban sin and alienation. Granted, the tone is somewhat lighter than in his notorious S&M films, but the message is none the cheerier for being framed with humor. Kinaki stars with Yumi Yoshiyuki, Kiyomi Ito, and Koichi Imaizumi. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi

Shunya Ito directed this unusual women’s prison film which spawned three direct sequels and a pair of spin-offs. Actress-singer Meiko Kaji, best-known for the “Alleycat Rock” series beginning with Naraneko Rokku: Onna Bancho (1970), stars as Nami, who escapes a prison with her friend Yukiko (Hiroko Ooji). The authorities chase them down and take them to a maximum-security facility where they are tortured severely. While in solitary confinement, Nami remembers her attempted murder of a corrupt vice officer boyfriend on the take. Angered, Nami becomes the vengeful Scorpion, kicking off the series which continued with Joshu Sasori Dai 41 Zakkyobou (1972). Kaji sang the theme song, which went gold in Japan. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi

This vaguely effeminate hunk (a standout among his peers) pens several of the romantic tunes that he sings, infusing his metaphors with a delicate brand of passion. Throbbing bass and a swirling horn section complete the seduction. The tight, focused production work of Luis Angel Cruz and Robert Cora grooves hard but keeps the spotlight on the star. The saxophones carry the title track to a fever pitch as Elvis yearns for his ladylove to materialize at the tip of a painter’s brush. “Ven” is a call for reconciliation, while “Besos De Coral” is a lovely seaside metaphor–alive with the wet kiss of waves and romps in the sand. The booming bass drops out for the poignant “Pequeno Luis,” an admirable outcry against domestic violence crooned with full dramatic force to the sound of harp, timpani, and strings.

Former assistant director to Sogo Ishii, Akira Ogata makes his debut with this complex coming of age drama about a pair of orphans obsessed with choir singing. Set during the political tumult of the 1970s, the film focuses on Michio (Atsushi Ito), a stuttering, socially-inept 15-year-old. Michio’s quiet childhood is cut short with the death of his father. After clearing out his dad’s photography studio, he is sent by his uncle to the militaristic Dokoritsu Orphange for Boys. There he meets and befriends the effeminate-looking Yasuo (Sora Toma), who is the lead soprano of the orphanage’s choir. Singing quickly dominates both boys’ lives as they prepare for the National Chorus Competition. Yet the political chaos of the times soon comes to their doorstep with the unexpected appearance of Satomi (Ryoko Takizawa), a radical on the run from the law after a couple notorious bombings. Choirmaster Seino (Teruyuki Kagawa), a former revolutionary himself, takes in the fugitive and shelters her for a spell. When she ultimately blows herself up in front of the boys while running from the cops, the two react in decidedly different ways. This film was screened at the 2000 Berlin Film Festival. ~ Jonathan Crow, Rovi

This fourth film in the series which began with Joshu 701-go Sasori (1972) almost didn’t get made because star Meiko Kaji was tired of her role. Toei Studios coaxed her back by replacing Toshiya Ito — who made the first three films — with Yasuharu Hasebe, who had directed Kaji in Naraneko Rokku: Onna Bancho (1970) and two of its sequels. Scorpion (Kaji) escapes from jail and ends up on the run from some thuggish cops. She finds a haven with a former college classmate who works backstage at a strip club. Scorpion tells him about her unfortunate adventures, later conspiring with him to finally expose her ex-boyfriend, the crooked vice cop whose attempted murder had resulted in her initial arrest. This was the end of the series for all practical purposes, although Yutaka Kohira directed a pair of sequels starting with Shin Joshu Sasori: 701-go (1976), each starring different actresses in the lead. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi
